Sylvester Sackey reported dead

Goalkeeper of Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities, Sylvester Sackey is reportedly dead, Getsportgh.com has learnt.

According to sources close to our desk, the stopper passed away today, September 12, 2023, in a bizzare manner.

Sylvester, we understands his demise comes after he had complain bitterly of stomach pains and was rushed to a hospital.

However, the 26-year-old could not hold unto his breath despite all efforts by medical officers on duty who tried to savage the situation.

He was thus confirmed dead by the medical officers with the body been deposited at the hospital morgue pending autopsy.

Sylvester Sackey is remembered by the Royals fraternity with his exploits in the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup campaign.

He starred in Legon Cities 4-3 penalty win over Accra Great Olympics to secure the Royals progression to the Round of 16 stage for the second season in a row.

This was after the tie ended goalless after Great Olympics wasted a series of chances to the chagrin of coach Yaw Preko.

Then head coach of the side Maxwell Konadu singled out goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey for high praise in the wake of his heroic.
