Medeama secure slim win over CR Belouizdad in Kumasi

Ghanaian champions, Medeama SC secured their first victory in the group stage of the CAF Champions League against CR Belouizdad on Friday, December 1, 2023.

The Yellow and Mauves defeated the Algerian giants 2:1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to boost confidence ahead of the next fixtures.

Medeama SC have lost the first group game to defending champions Al Ahly SC at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo last weekend, and needed a victory against Belouizdad in Kumasi.

The Algerian giants were shot to the lead in the 39th minute kind courtesy a penalty goal from Raouf Benguit in the 39th minute of the game.

Daniel Lomotey snatched the parity for Medeama in the 45th minute before the first half break.

Medeama came back stronger in the second half to search for the second goal, creating chances and knocking at the defense of the Algerians.

In the 90th minute, Mamudu Kamaradin netted the winning goal for Medeama SC to secure them the three maximum points.
