Ghana coach Nora Häuptle hoping for emphatic victory against Namibia

Ghana coach, Nora Häuptle is hoping her lads secure a commanding victory against Namibia in the first leg of the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) final round of the qualifiers.

The Black Queens failed to qualify for the last edition of the tournament, but are determined to make it to the upcoming edition hence the eagerness to eliminate Namibia in the final round of the qualifiers.

Speaking to pressmen on Thursday, Nora Häuptle indicated that the focus is to annihilate Namibia to make the second leg a mere formality.

“We have had a good training this week and we have all the players fresh and ready. We are looking forward to putting a good performance on the pitch tomorrow. It’s about winning and bringing the result. We are fully determined to fulfil our job in the first leg against Namibia,” said Hauptle.

The Black Queens remain unbeaten since Nora Häuptle took over the coaching job in January this year, replacing Mercy Tagoe.

Since Häuptle became the Black Queens head coach, the team has amassed nine consecutive wins, scoring over 25 goals without conceding.

The Namibia game has been slated for Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Accra Sports Stadium with 3:30PM as the kickoff time.
