Asante Kotoko signings in the ongoing transfer window

Ghanaian heavyweight, Asante Kotoko have done a yeoman’s job in the ongoing transfer window in bid to strengthen squad for the 2023/24 league season.

The Porcupine Warriors are determined to reclaim the Ghana Premier League title after losing it to Medeama SC last season hence the huge additions to the existing squad.

Asante Kotoko have so far made seven new signings in the ongoing transfer window which closes at 11:59pm on September 1, 2023.

The former Ghana Premier League champions have signed bulky defender Yahaya Dawuni on three-year deal from lower tier side Susubiribi Sporting Club alongside midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu formerly of Legon Cities FC.

The club have also completed the acquisition of Nanabayin Amoah from Venomous Vipers as well as Yussif Nurudeen Mohammed from RTU and Bofoakwa Tano FC defender Samuel Asamoah on three-year deal each.

Berekum Chelsea duo of Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara have also signed a three-year deal each with Asante Kotoko ahead of the forthcoming league season.

Asante Kotoko reach agreement with three sponsors

While Asante Kotoko are making new additions, the club have also parted ways with quite a number of players which include Maxwell Agyemang, Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng, Charles Owusu and Joseph Amoako.

The aforementioned players have been shown the exit doors to make room for new additions with coach Prosper Narteh Ogum at the center of the transfers.

With five days to close the transfer window, Asante Kotoko are expected to announce the signing of other players as negotiations have reportedly reached the very apex pending official announcement.

Asante Kotoko are expected to announce the capturing of former King Faisal talisman Baba Yahaya who has commenced training with the team at Beposo (Where the club is having its pre-season).

Yahaya will join Asante Kotoko on free transfer following the expiration of his contract with King Faisal Football Club after the 2022/23 league season.

Aduana Stars were reported to have join the race for the signature of the skillful midfielder but it seems Asante Kotoko are the clearest favorite as the players is determined to play for the club.

Asante Kotoko are expected to complete the signing of WAFA SC skipper Michael Kyei Dwamena with negotiations progressing.
