Coach Micheal Osei is still under contract – Bibiani Gold Stars CEO

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Premier League outfit, Bibiani Gold Stars John Adu Kwesi has refuted claims suggesting that the contract of its head coach Micheal Osei has expired.

He reiterated that the contract of the tactician is still valid at the Bibiani-based club.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko gaffer joined Bibiani Gold Stars from lower-tier side Star Madrid FC before the start of the 2021/22 Ghana football season on a three-year deal.

He replaces promotion expert Kobina Amissah who vacated his role months after helping them to secure promotion for the first time in the club’s history.

Ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana football season slated for September 15 -18, there are growing reports that the three-year stay of coach Osei in Bibiani has ended.

Addressing the development on Angel FM/TV, Friday, July 21, 2023, the CEO of Bibiani Gold Stars John Adu Kwesi said there’s no iota of truth in the news surrounding their gaffer’s contract and described it as a mere rumor.

According to him, Micheal Osei remains the head coach of the club and is still under contract, asking the general public to disregard the speculations.

“No, coach Michael Osei’s contract has not expired, and management is also considering its review for extension,” Mr. Adu told the interviewer.

The CEO added “Micheal’s contract is still valid” and noted that management has commenced deliberations on his future even before his marriage with the club ends.

Coach Michael Osei in his first season at Bibiani Gold Stars guided the team to a 10th-place finish after the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign.
