Despite being deemed surplus to requirements, Asante Kotoko striker Solomon Sarfo Taylor has vowed not to leave the club but determined to fight for a position according to a report by Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

The former Karela United forward joined Asante Kotoko in March, 2021 on a three-year deal as direct replacement for Kwame Opoku who left for USM Alger in Algeria.

Taylor has failed to live up to expectations since joining the club hence the decision to offload him ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

He found his goal-scoring form in the latter part of last season for Asante Kotoko and the attacker believes he will continue with his fine-form next season when given the opportunity hence his decision to stay at the club.

Taylor will face stiffer competition should he get the chance to stay at Asante Kotoko for the next season campaign following the arrival of Kalo Quattara from Berekum Chelsea and the presence of Georges Mfegue and Steven Mukwala Dese in the club’s attack.

Sarfo Taylor, per reports reaching Getsportsgh.com, is not part of the Asante Kotoko squad having their pre-season at Beposo in the Ashanti Region.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have announced the departure of Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng and Charles Owusu to make way for new additions.

The former Ghana Premier League champions have also parted ways with young winger Joseph Amoako who was under suspension over an altercation with a club supporter on Facebook.

As Getsportsgh.com earlier reported, Asante Kotoko are close to terminating the contracts of defenders Maxwell Agyemang and Andrews Appau.
