Ghana's Samira Suleman to provide football boots, jerseys to kids in Dunkwa-on-offin

Ghanaian striker, Samira Suleman will be donating football boots, jerseys among others to underprivileged children in Dunkwa-on-offin in the Central Region who aspire to reach the highest stage in football.

Over two hundred young footballers in Dunkwa-on-offin and its environs will converge at the Elwark Park on the Wangara Lane on December 25, 2023 for the event.

Dubbed “The Coach Mira Project”, this will be the second edition of the event with the underprivileged children expected to go home with football jerseys, boots among others on the day.

Speaking to Getsportsgh.com, the former Hasaacas Ladies goal poacher indicated the objective of the event is to use sports as powerful tool to bring people together, fostering a sense of belonging, promoting positive values and to drive social change and make a lasting impact on communities.

Samira Suleman is a UEFA license B holder, and has been embarking on charity works for the past years with the aim of using the project to help impact and educate young female footballers in deprived communities.

The former Hasaacas Ladies talisman wants to set herself as an example to young lads who desire to take up football as their career.

She captained Hasaacas Ladies to the Ghana Women’s Premier League title in 2015 before moving abroad.

Before her journey abroad, Samira Suleman played for Hasaacas Ladies, rising through the ranks at both club and national levels before enrolling at Robert Morris University in the United States of America.

She moved to Europe after leading Hasaacas Ladies FC to two Women’s Premier League titles. In the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons, she was the leading scorer and best player.

Sulemana is currently playing for the Icelandic club IA Akranes Football Club after previously playing for Vikingur Olafsvik.
