Ghana is capable of winning 2023 AFCON - Felix Aboagye

Former Ghana international, Felix Aboagye has tipped the Black Stars to lift the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy in Ivory Coast next year.

Ghana is among the twenty-four countries to partake in the tournament scheduled for January 13 through to February 11, 2024 in the French-speaking country.

Since 1982, Ghana has failed to win its fifth AFCON trophy after several attempts, finishing as the first runners-up on five occasions.

The West African country has performed poorly in its recent AFCON appearance despite boasting of highly-talented players who are making waves in Europe.

But despite Ghana’s recent poor performances, Felix Aboagye who formerly played for Al Ahly SC in Egypt, believes the Black Stars can go to Ivory Coast and win the AFCON, indicating that Egypt might be the only stumbling block.

“Yes, Egypt and Ghana are capable of winning the tournament. At the present time, Ghana is not performing well, but in the atmosphere and competitions of the tournament itself, everything changes”, he said as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.

“Egypt has a very strong team and has a strong chance of winning the tournament”, he added.

Ghana are in group B of the 2023 AFCON alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique…
