We need financial assistance - Medeama boss Moses Parker

Medeama SC bankroller, Moses Armah Parker has pleaded for financial support to cushion the club to continue their CAF Champions League campaign.

The Yellow and Mauves are participating in the CAF Champions League for the first time after winning the Ghana Premier League title last season.

The Ghana champions were succumbed to a 3:0 defeat by Al Ahly SC in the first group stage fixture at the Al-Salam Stadium last weekend.

After the defeat against the defending champions and record-winners of the competition, Medeama SC have returned to Ghana to prepare for the second game against Algerian side CR Belouizdad at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

And despite receiving huge promises from higher personalities and organizations in the country, Moses Armah Parker has revealed the financial burden on the club is huge and will need assistance to enable them continue their CAF Champions League campaign.

“It is not easy but we are waiting [for funds from sponsors]. We have returned. Goldfields gave us 100,000 USD which we used to prepare for our first game,” he told Peace FM.

“We were waiting for CAF to give us something but till date, we have received nothing we hope that other money that we should get will come.

“We are still preparing. We haven’t given anybody pressure I don’t want to talk much about money. We want to concentrate on the match to bring glory to Ghana as we are determined to be victorious that is what we are focused on.”

Medeama will have to defeat CR Belouizdad at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, December 1 to boost confidence of securing a ticket to the knockout stage of the competition.
