CAF Champions League: Medeama can even qualify to the semifinals - Enock Atta Agyei

Former Horoya AC winger, Enock Atta Agyei says Medeama boast of enough quality to secure a qualification to either quarterfinals or semifinals of the CAF Champions League.

The Yellow and Mauves begin their maiden CAF Champions League group stage campaign with a trip to Al Ahly SC on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Medeama will face the defending champions of the CAF Champions League at the Al-Salam Stadium on Saturday evening with most connoisseurs of the game tipping Al Ahly SC to dismantle the Ghana champions.

The trio of Nurudeen Abdulai, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah who were part of Black Stars squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros, have all joined the Medeama squad for the cagey encounter.

Speaking on Onua FM/TV, Enock Atta Agyei who formerly played for Medeama in the Ghanaian top-flight league believes the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League have what it takes to get a positive result against Al Ahly SC at the Al-Salam Stadium.

“Al Ahly is a strong side but that doesn’t stop Medeama from getting good results if they put more effort and believe in themselves”, Atta Agyei said.

“They [Medeama] can get a good result there. Looking at the Medeama playing body, the advice I can give them is to work extra hard, this is because they have very good players and have all the qualities to qualify to the quarter-final or semi-final. Medeama also have a good team,” he added.

Medeama SC landed in Cairo on Wednesday evening with a 21-man squad and eleven technical team members that include video analysts.
