CAF CL: Medeama depart Ghana to Egypt with 21-man squad for Al Ahly SC cracker

Ghana champions, Medeama SC will depart the country for Egypt ahead of Al Ahly SC showdown on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Medeama are traveling to the North African country with a formidable 21-man squad to face Al Ahly SC at the Al-Salam Stadium.

Notable among the players are Nurudeen Abdulai, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah. The trio were part of the Black Stars squad that played against Madagascar and Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sowah played against Comoros in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21 after coming off the bench in the 80th minute of the game where Ghana lost 1:0 at the Omnisports Stadium.

Zimbabwean forward, Kudakwashe Mahachi who joined Medeama prior to the commencement of the 2023/24 league season is also part of the team’s squad for the trip to Egypt.

Medeama will just off at the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday afternoon accompanied by an 11-man technical team, including video analysts.

Al Ahly SC are the defending champions and record-winners of the CAF Champions League while this is the first time Medeama will be playing in the group stage of the competition.

Medeama SC secured a ticket to the group stage of the CAF Champions League after eliminating Guinean giants Horoya AC in the final round of the preliminary stage.
