Daniel Amartey ruled out of Black Stars game against Comoros

Besiktas defender Daniel Amartey will not be available for Black Stars game against Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Amartey has been ruled out of the game on Tuesday after failing a late fitness test for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros.

The highly experience defender limped out of the game against Madagascar on Friday after a suspected hamstring injury and was left out of training in Moroni on Sunday.

According to GFA, although the MRI scans did not reveal any obvious injury, his clinical progress as monitored by the medical team has been rather slow, making him unavailable for the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros.

Amartey who started the opening game against Madagascar in Kumasi was later replaced by Kasim Nuhu.

He was substituted in the 63rd minute after picking the injury. Ghana went ahead to win the game against Madagascar with Inaki Williams scoring the only at the dying embers of the stoppage-time.
