Seventeen players arrive in Black Stars camp for Madagascar, Comoros games

Seventeen players have so far landed at the Black Stars camp for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The team are expected to fly to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday to continue preparations for the two crucial matches.

Eight players are yet to arrive at the Black Stars camp in Accra but Getsportsgh.com understands all the 25-man squad will be in camp before the team journey to Kumasi this afternoon.

Coach Chris Hughton has handed late call-ups to Leicester City attacker Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Medeama SC defender Nurudeen Abdulai to replace Kamaldeen Sulemana and Abdul Mumin who have pulled out of the squad due to injury setbacks.

Players currently in camp include Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Denis Odoi, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu, Baba Iddrisu, Joseph Paintsil, Edmund Addo, Jonathan Sowah, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Nurudeen Abdulai, Inaki Williams and Antoine Semenyo.

The rest are Jojo Wollacott, Majeed Ashmeru, Osman Bukari and Nicholas Opoku.

The Black Stars opened camp in Accra on Monday, November 13,2023 ahead of the two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The squad will begin training at the Accra Sports stadium on Tuesday evening in Kumasi and wrap up their preparations on Thursday before the Madagascar clash.

Ghana will square off with Madagascar in the first game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, November 17 before traveling to Moroni for the second game against Comoros on Tuesday, November 21,2023.
