GFA announces changes in Black Stars itinerary for Madagascar, Comoros games

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced changes in Black Stars schedule for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

According to the GFA, the Black Stars technical team has made a change to the team’s schedule for the double header against Madagascar and Comoros.

The changes will see the Black Stars fly to Kumasi on Tuesday morning instead of Wednesday to continue preparations for the two crucial matches.

Coach Chris Hughton and his charges will hold their first training at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon.

The GFA says the Tuesday and Wednesday’s training sessions will be behind closed doors.

As earlier reported, seventeen players have arrived in the Black Stars camp for the two matches.

Eight players are yet to arrive at the Black Stars camp in Accra but understands all the 25-man squad will be in camp before the team journey to Kumasi this afternoon.

Players currently in camp include Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Denis Odoi, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu, Baba Iddrisu, Joseph Paintsil, Edmund Addo, Jonathan Sowah, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Nurudeen Abdulai, Inaki Williams and Antoine Semenyo.

Others are Jojo Wollacott, Majeed Ashmeru, Osman Bukari and Nicholas Opoku.

Ghana will square off with Madagascar in the first game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, November 17 before traveling to Moroni for the second game against Comoros on Tuesday, November 21,2023.
