The deal was aimed at boosting the league’s marketing and positioning, to make it one of the most successful and attractive leagues in Africa.

betPawa had committed to investing $6 million over the three-year deal, with over $2 million already paid during their involvement of just over a year.

This comes as a huge blow to the Ghana Premier League clubs as they will now rely on the broadcasting rights from StarTimes.

Before the betPawa deal, the Ghana Premier League had endured seasons without a headline sponsor after the First Capital Plus deal collapsed.
