Ampem Darkoa Ladies secure a comeback win against AS FAR

Ghanaian side, Ampem Darkoa Ladies came from behind to beat Moroccan giant AS FAR 2:1 in first group stage fixture in the CAF Women’s Champions League on Monday, November 6, 2023.

It was a strike from Comfort Yeboah and an own goal that ensured Ampem Darkoa Ladies secured all three points at the Stade de Laurent Pokou in San Pedro.

Najat Badri broke the deadlock on the 14th minute for AS FAR with Ampem Darkoa Ladies failing to respond throughout the entire first forty-five minutes of the game.

Coach Nana Adarkwa’s ladies came back from the recess to showcase a tantalizing performance to score two quick goals.

The majestic Comfort Yeboah snatched the parity for the reigning Ghana Women’s Premier League champions in the 57th minute with a thunderbolt strike.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies kept pressuring the Moroccan champions for another goal until a strike from Comfort Yeboah deflected a defender to give them the second goal in the 62nd minute.

In the dying embers of the game, AS FAR came in very strong for the equalizer but Ampem Darkoa Ladies defended gallantly till the blast of the final whistle.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will now face AS Mande from Mali in the second group game on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
