I want to play for Asante Kotoko again - Samuel Inkoom

Former Asante Kotoko defender, Samuel Inkoom has expressed his desire to play for the club again before retiring from active football.

The 34-year old is currently unattached with any club following the expiration of his contract with Hearts of Oak after the 2022/23 league season.

And with the January transfer window approaching, Inkoom believes he will welcome the opportunity to play for Asante Kotoko for the second time.

“I have always said that I will play for Kotoko again before I retire. It is my wish. I signed one year with Hearts of Oak and now the contract has ended. But I wish to play for Kotoko again before I quit the game” , Samuel Inkoom said on Fox FM.

Samuel Inkoom joined Asante Kotoko in 2008 from Sekondi Hasaacas and in April, 2009 left the Ghanaian football powerhouse to join FC Basel in the Swiss Super League on a three-year deal.

During his stay at Asante Kotoko, Samuel Inkoom helped the club to win the 2007/2008 season of the Ghana Premier League, President’s Cup in 2008 and the SWAG Cup also in 2008.

Samuel Inkoom is a former member of the Black Satellites. He played with the team at 2009 African Youth Championship in Rwanda, winning that tournament.

He was also part of the Black Satellite side that defeated Brazil in a penalty shootouts to annex the cup for Africa and Ghana for the first time in the under 20 tournament in 2009.

Inkoom played his debut game for Ghana senior national team, Black Stars in November, 2008 against Tunisia, and went ahead to cap 44 matches for Ghana, scoring just a goal as a right-back.
