Paris 2024: Black Queens beat Benin to secure next round qualification

The Black Queens of Ghana have booked a qualification to the third round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers after beating their counterpart from Benin in Accra on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

The Black Queens defeated Benin 2:0 in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium to qualifier for the third round of the qualifiers.

Evelyn Badu’s opener and an own goal ensured the Black Queens win the two-legged tie with a 5:0 aggregate score-line.

Ghana begun the game on a sloppy note with the first half ending in a goalless.

But Nora Häuptle’s ladies returned from the recess to dominate with Evelyn Badu breaking the deadlock in the 65th minute before she went ahead to cause the opponent defender to score an own goal in the 75th minute.

The victory means the Black Queens continue their unbeaten run after eight matches and are yet to concede a goal.

The Black Queens will now face the Copper Queens of Zambia in the third round of the qualifiers.
