Hearts of Oak's enterprising midfielder returns for Goldstars game

Ghanaian heavyweight, Hearts of Oak have been handed huge boost as enterprising midfielder Raphael Amponsah has made a return for Bibiani Goldstars clash on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

The young midfielder trained with the rest of the team on Thursday after missing out in a number of games due to a knee injury.

Raphael Amponsah has been out of action for almost four weeks, he last played for the Phobians against Bofoakwa Tano FC at the Coronation Park in Sunyani.

He came off the bench against Bofoakwa Tano FC to showcase his quality and since then has not played for the Phobians again.

His return gives coach Martin Koopman more options in midfield to choose from when he lines up his squad against Bibiani GoldStars on Saturday afternoon at the Dun’s Park.

Also returning to training is defender David Oppong Afrane who missed out Hearts of Oak last game against FC Samartex at the Accra Sports Stadium due to a minor injury.

The towering defender who joined Hearts of Oak from King Faisal in the transfer window, has suddenly become an influential figure in the team with his return deemed as huge boost to the Phobians ahead of Bibiani Goldstars trip.

The 21-year old is expected to partner Kelvin Osei Asibey in the heart of defense for Hearts of Oak against Bibiani Goldstars on Saturday.

Another midfield sensation Gideon Asante who is yet to feature for Hearts of Oak this season due to abdominal problems has also returned to training.

His return also comes as huge boost to Hearts of Oak who will need his creativity in midfield against Bibiani Goldstars at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani.

The former league champions will be hoping to get a positive result against Bibiani Goldstars after winning only a game out of five this season.
