We have to support Chris Hughton - Kwesi Appiah

Ghana Football Association Executive Council member, Kwesi Appiah has urged Ghanaians to support Chris Hughton as the Black Stars head coach.

Hughton has been heavily criticised by Ghanaians following the Black Stars abysmal performance against Mexico and USA during the October international break.

Ghana lost 2:0 to Mexico and went ahead to suffer a 4:0 humiliation against USA at the Geodis Park in Nashville.

Since the Black Stars shambolic performance against Mexico and USA, coach Chris Hughton has been chastised with some Ghanaians calling for his sacking before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

But Kwesi Appiah who is currently the head of the Sudan national team has entreated Ghanaians to rally behind Chris Hughton, asking for more time for the former Newcastle United manager.

“As of now, let us wait for the report from the friendly games”, Kwesi Appiah told Asempa FM.

“But at the moment, Chris Hughton is the head coach, and we must support him.”

“Let us hope in the upcoming games, there will be some improvement in the team’s performance, and then we can assess him properly,” he added…
