Mubarak Wakaso can be the solution to Inaki Williams' goal-scoring problems in the Black Stars - Dan Quaye

Former Ghana defender, Dan Quaye has advocated for the inclusion of Mubarak Wakaso in the Black Stars to help curtail Inaki Williams goal-scoring problems.

Inaki Williams, a former Spain international is yet to score for Ghana since switching nationality in 2022, playing eleven matches for the West African country.

Even though the 29-year old has been able to maintained a prolific goal-scoring form for Athletic Club in Spain, netting four goals this season, Williams has failed to replicate same form for Ghana.

But speaking on Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Dan Quaye believes the inclusion of Mubarak Wakaso in the Black Stars, Inaki Williams will be able to score for Ghana.

According to the Hearts of Oak legend, Mubarak Wakaso’ skill of delivering long balls to attackers could end Inaki Williams goal-scoring problems in the Black Stars.

“It’s about time we reinstate some of the experienced players in the Black Stars. Inaki Williams has struggled to score for the national team since switching allegiance because of our midfielders.”

He continued, “I believe Mubarak Wakaso, who is able to deliver long balls to attackers, can help him resolve his goal-scoring woes with the Black Stars. Wakaso always ensures he feeds strikers with the balls, and he has the experience for long passes, much like Sulley Muntari. We are the Brazil of Africa, and we must respect that.”

Mubarak Wakaso has been absent from the Black Stars for the past two years due to fitness issues.

The 33-year old has registered eight assists in 69 appearances for the Black Stars since making his debut in 2012.
