GFA wins court case against AshantiGold

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has won the long-standing legal battle against AshantiGold SC at the Human Rights Court in Accra, can exclusively report.

AshantiGold dragged the GFA to the Human Rights Court in Accra challenging their relegation to Division Two last year following their conviction for match manipulation by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee.

The Obuasi-based club were hoping that the court will overturn their demotion and compel the country’s football governing body to provide them with a fair hearing.

During the 29th GFA Congress held in Kumasi on Monday, 10th July, it was decided that Ashantigold would remain suspended from participating in Ghana football, a decision which intensified the club’s determination to seek justice through the legal system.

And after a long-standing battle, the Human Rights Court in Accra has ruled the case in favor of the GFA which means AshantiGold will remain suspended from all football-related activities.
