Frederick Acheampong retains Executive Council position

Football Administrator, Fredrick Acheampong has retained his slot as Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association.

The fast-rising football administrator maintained his slot today, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Tamale in the ongoing elective congress.

Mr. Acheampong accumulated 11 votes to maintain his position for the second time as an Exco member.

Archee, as affectionately known in the football cycles had the opportunity to serve on the GFA Executive Council on the ticket of AshantiGold SC in the 2019 elections.

The former Ashantigold Chief Executive Officer form part of five individuals to occupy all five slots available for premier league clubs.

Randy Abbey, Oduro Sarfo, Kwesi Appiah and Kingsley Osei Bonsu have also been elected onto the Executive Council as premier league reps.

Mr. Bonsu had to beat Elloeny Amande of Karela United in a round-off contest to complete the list of five after the duo had tied earlier on nine votes each.

Meanwhile, incumbent GFA president Kurt Okraku who went unopposed retained his seat as President of the federation after he was unanimously endorsed by 97% of the votes cast

Only two delegates voted against his retention whiles one refuse to turnout for the exercise.
