Why Edmund Ackah deserves to be on the GFA Exco

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) go to polls on Thursday, October 5 to elect new leaders to steer the affairs of the country’s football business with Edmund Ackah vying to be on the Executive Council.

The knowledgeable football administrator is among the ten personalities contesting for the five slots available for premier league representatives on the Executive Council.

Mr Edmund Ackah who is the General Manager of FC Samartex is a known figure in the Ghanaian football parlance and has proven to be a valuable asset to the country’s football, hence the need for delegates to vote him unto the GFA Executive Council.

The industrious Edmund Ackah has been in the country’s football industry since 1994 and has acquired an envious knowledge needed on the Executive Council to transform Ghana’s football to the higher heights.

He is an embodiments of football administration vested with abundance of knowledge required to elevate Ghana football to the highest pinnacle.

Mr Ackah ventured into football administration in 1994 as the owner and President of Torino Babies before given the nod to serve as the Greater Accra Regional secretary of Asante Kotoko Circles and later became the administration officer for Asante Kotoko from 2003-2005.

His exceptional knowledge on football administration propelled him in becoming the Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman of Asante Kotoko before he was elected the supporters’ Chairman in the same region.

Due to his hard work and level of professionalism, Edmund Ackah was voted the first national Chairmam of Asante Kotoko supporters union and in 2011 was appointed media assistant officer of the Ghanaian football powerhouse.

Undoubtedly, Edmund Ackah is a great asset to Ghana football and delegates must consider him as his service will be needed on the Executive Council.

He has been on the Ghana Premier League Board, Management Committee of the Black Maidens and the Executive Council member of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

Edmund Ackah is currently the General Manager of Ghana Premier League outfit FC Samartex and also serving as the Black Galaxies’ team manager.

With all these, it’s of no doubt that Edmund Ackah will make a huge impact when voted to serve on the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
