Ghana Deaf Team given two days to settle hotel debt or face ejection

The Ghana National Deaf Team, Black Wonders have been left in a state of confusion as they have up until Thursday to settle outstanding hotel bills or face ejection.

The Black Wonders are in Malaysia representing Ghana in the fourth edition of the Deaf World Cup but have been hit with huge financial challenges. understands, ever since the Black Wonders arrived in Malaysia, the contingent have been abandoned and might be thrown out of their hotel should they fail to settle a debt closed to $20,000 before Thursday, October 5, 2023.

In a letter to the Ghana’s ambassador to Malaysia, the Black Wonders have appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid before Thursday.

The Black Wonders landed in Malaysia two hours before their first group stage game against the defending champions Turkey.

And as a result of jetlagged, the Black Wonders suffered 11:0 defeat in their first group stage game against Turkey.

Dear Bernard,

The Ghana Deaf Football Association, wants to thank her excellency the Ghana ambassador to the Malaysia and your good self for delegating a powerful person like you to come and visit the national deaf team.

It was heartwarming and moral booster for the players and the officials and at least calming down the pressure the team has to go through.

The team is however appealing to her excellency the ambassador through to the Ghana government as a matter of urgency to help clear our outstanding debt owe to the hotel, we have been reminded this morning to ensure that final payment is made by Thursday.

As was witnessed by your good self, we trust that same has been communicated to our mother her excellency the ambassador.

The team wants to thank all the embassy staff, for your hard working, love and support.

We appreciate your good work and hoping to hear from you soonest and favourably
