CAF Champions League: Two Medeama key players ruled out of Horoya clash; find out

Medeama SC have been dealt a huge blow as two key players have been ruled out of their crucial CAF Champions League return fixture against Horoya AC in Conakry – Guinea.

The Ghanaian champions who landed in Conakry – Guinea on Thursday, September 28, 2023, will play Horoya AC on Saturday with kick-off scheduled at the GLC Nongo Stadium at 16:00GMT.

Medeama go into the game with a 3-1 lead from the first leg and will be hoping to hold onto the advantage as they eye progress in the competition.

Ahead of the game, the Yellow and Mauve lads are without midfielder Manuel Mantey and defender Theophilus Anobah due to injuries.

According to reports, midfielder Mantey picked up the setback during their 2023-24 Ghana Premier League opener against Accra Lions on September 20, 2023.

With winger Theophilus Anobah, he also picked the injury in the sides 3-1 first leg win over Horoya AC on September 17 in Ghana.

Anoba understands the two players could not travel with the team after failing to recover from the injuries they sustained.

A favorable result for Medeama will see them qualify to the group stage of the competition for the first time having previously achieved the mark in the CAF Confederation Cup in 20216.
