Alexander Djiku scores debut goal for Fernabache

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku netted his first goal for Fernabache in the Turkish league against Instabul Basaksehir on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

The 29-year old was making his eleventh appearance for Fernabache since joining the cliby in the summer transfer window from FC Strasbourg in France.

Djiku opened the floodgates for Fernabache in the 5th minute by capitalizing on a rebound from a corner kick in the fifth minute and struck home a volley to the far post to give his team the lead.

Brazilian defender Leo Duarte doubled the lead for the home side from an unfortunate own goal in the 10th minute before Sebastian Szymanski 10 minutes after the own goal.

The first half break ended with the former Turkish champions marching to the tunnel with a convincing 3:0 score-line.

Despite being up by 3:0, Fernabache retuned from the recess to score again with former Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi coming off the bench to set up Sebastian Szymanski who scored to ensure a convincing 4-0 win.

Alexander Djiku lasted 75 minutes in the encounter with Joshua King replacing him.
