Kwesi Appiah leaves Asante Kotoko for Sudan coaching job

Ghanaian tactician, Kwesi Appiah has been appointed the head coach of the Sudan national team.

Getsportsgh.com can exclusively reveal that Kwesi Appiah has been granted permission to leave his job at Asante Kotoko for the Sudan coaching job.

Appiah was a member of the Asante Kotoko interim management committee inaugurated by the patron of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, where he was serving as the technical director.

Per our reliable source, the former Black Stars gaffer has reached an agreement with the Sudanese Football Association to takeover their national team job.

He is expected to leave for Saudi Arabia (where the Sudan team will be camping due to the unrest in the country) to commence work as the head coach of the Sudan national team.

Getsportsgh.com understands three Ghanaian coaches, Assistant Coach, Goalkeepers Trainer and Fitness Coach who are yet to be determined would also join coach Kwesi Appiah to reshape the Sudan national team ahead of international competitions.

The 63-year old formerly coached Sudanese top-flight side, Khartoum Watani leading the team to the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers in 2017.

Kwesi Appiah is currently in contention of being part of the GFA Executive Committee board in the next administration.
