George Afriyie goes to court over his disqualification

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie is set to challenge his disqualification in court, according to Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

Mr Afriyie was disqualified from contesting in the forthcoming GFA elections with his appeal also dismissed by the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

And in a bid to challenge the decision, the Planners FC bankroller will reportedly file a case in court on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

George Afriyie is also expected to go to the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) to contest his disqualification from the GFA Presidential race.

The renowned football administrator was the only candidate challenging the incumbent Kurt Okraku for the GFA top seat.

Meanwhile, the GFA elections which is scheduled for October 5, 2023 is also facing court injunction from King Faisal Football Club.
