Joseph Paintsil scores late to secure a point for Genk against St. Truiden

Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil netted his first goal of the season for Genk in an enthralling encounter against St. Truiden in the Belgian top-flight league on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

The highly-talented winger scored very late in the game to secure a point for Genk at home.

Aboubakary Koita broke the deadlock for St. Truiden in the 31st minute be adding a second goal after five minutes.

The Belgian footballer increased the lead to 3:0 for St. Truiden before the first half break.

Genk returned from the recess to dominate the game with Bilal El Khannouss reducing the deficit in the 58th minute.

Nigerian forward Toluwalase Arokodare made it 3:2 in the 71st minute before Joseph Paintsil had parity for Genk with just five minutes to stoppage time.

The late goal has become Paintsil’s first goal of the season for Genk in the Belgian top-flight league.
