Alex Aso elated with MOTM in Bibiani Gold Stars win over Asante Kotoko

Bibiani Gold Stars‘ enterprising midfielder Alex Aso adjudged the man-of-the-match in his sides’ 2-1 hard-fought win over Asante Kotoko.

The attacking midfielder who was exceptional in the clash became a torn in the fresh of the porcupine worriors.

He scored the all-important-match winner for Gold Stars in the 71st minutes.

Aso’s screamer rendered goalkeeper Frederick Asare helpless ensuring that Kumasi Asante Kotoko were left disjointed on Saturday afternoon in the timber city.

The 23-year old, not only his world class goal became a subject for discussion but his attributes coupled with his display on the day.

However he had registered his name on the score sheet in the first half only for the goal to be disallowed.

The former Inter Allies player was honored with the Man of the Match award after the game.


He went home with electronic products from NASCO and a mobile phone for his outstanding performance.

Speaking to StarTime, the official broadcasters of the Ghana Premier League, Alex Aso expressed his excitement for the feat achieved.

“First, I give thank to God because it wasn’t an easy game especially playing our first game at home against opponent like Asante Kotoko but at the end of the game we picked the maximum three points.”

He also attributed their win to team work which he said conjured the magic for Bibiani Gold Stars.

Alex Aso had also played for Legon Cities before joining the Western North-based premier league side.
