Jonathan Sowah, 3 other Medeama key players ruled out of Aduana Stars clash

Medeama SC have been dealt a huge blow as four influential players in the team including Jonathan Sowah have been ruled out of Aduana Stars fixture on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

The defending champions of the Ghana Premier League will travel to Dormaa Ahenkro to face Aduana Stars in week two of the 2023/24 league season.

After drawing 2:2 at home against Accra Lions last Wednesday, Medeama will have to beat Aduana Stars to boost confidence for CAF Champions League fixture against Horoya AC

Medeama will go into the crucial game without Jonathan Sowah, Derrick Fordjour, Manuel Mantey and Theophilus Anobah.

Getsportsgh.com can confirm that Jonathan Sowah has been ruled out of the match due to a minor injury. Sowah scored in the club’s 2-2 draw at home to Accra Lions but suffered the setback.

For Derrick Fordjour, the winger has also been ruled of the trip to Dormaa due to an injury. He missed the 2-2 stalemate at home to Accra Lions after failing to recover in time. He is expected to intensify his recovery this week.

Manuel Mantey who is the club’s midfield ‘Machine’ is also of the match against Aduana Stars due to an injury. The talented midfielder picked up a knock during the match against Accra Lions at home on Wednesday. He is however, expected to be fit in time for the return leg fixture of the CAF Champions League tie against Horoya AC next weekend.

Theophilus Anobah will miss his second successive Premier League game due to an injury. Anobah missed the season’s opener against Lions and will be unavailable against Aduana Stars due to the setback.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean Kudakwashe Mahachi is available for selection after being named in the travelling squad.
