Bibiani Gold Stars humbles disjointed Asante Kotoko at Duns Park

Gold Stars recorded their first win of the season

Bibiani Gold Stars continue their fine form at the Duns Park as they humbled Asante Kotoko in their week two fixture of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Two goals from Prince Owusu Kwabena and Eric Bosomtwi conjured the magic for the home side.

Although Sheriff Mohammed had canceled Prince Owusu’s 66th minutes strike but it was not enough for the reds.

Eric Bosomtwi bags his first goal for Gold Stars in the 71st minutes which proved as the match winner.

Prosper Ogum’s boys searched for the equilizer but the defensive force of Gold Stars were too solid for penetration.

The win propelled the home side to extend their unbeaten feat on home soil. Their last home defeat was against Berekum Chelsea in the 2022/23 season.

Gold Stars also recorded their first win of the season following their defeat to Berekum Chelsea in the opening day fixtures last weekend.

However Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s winless run in the new season continues as they have accumulated one point out of six possible points.

The Kumasi-based club will now turn their attention to the matchweek three games when they play host to Karela United.
