Commencement dates for 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League announced

The season starts on Friday, October 31, 2023

The Ghana Football Association has announced dates for the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League competition (WPL).

The WPL played in two zones (Northern and Southern) is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 31, 2023 and will end on May 17-20, 2024.

According to the GFA, the first round of the season will end between December 29-January 1, 2024.

The second round is also scheduled to begin between the weekend of February 16-19.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies are the defending champions ahead of next months’ new season.

Below are the dates for the new season:

Ampem Darkoa Ladies and seven other teams will contest in the third edition of the Women’s Premier Super Cup to be played on the Kyebi Artificial turf in the Eastern Region.

The off season tournament will kick off on September 29 and end on October 8, 2023.

The first to fourth clubs from the Northern Zone and Southern Zone in the just ended Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League automatically qualifies to participate in the competition.

Balloting and pairing schedules for the entire competition will be released at a later date.
