Bernard Mensah bags hat-trick for Al Taee in Saudi Professional League

The goal becomes his fourth of the season

Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah scored a hat-trick for his Saudi Arabian side Al Taee in their 4-3 lost to Al Ettifaq on Thursday evening in the Saudi Professional League.

Mensah, 28, set the ball rolling for his side when he slotted home from an Alfa Semedo’s pass in the 10th minutes.

The goal was an equalizer for the away team who were down by a Georginio Wijnaldum’s 2nd minutes strike.

The former Besiktas and Victoria Guimaraes player doubled the lead for Al Taee after 26 minutes to make the score 2-1.

Al Ettifaq responded quickly and leveled the score before recess through former Olympic Lyon and Atletico Madrid forward Moussa Dembele.

Nine minutes after the break, both teams made incursions in search for an early goal with some decent chances but failed to score.

Benard Mensah without wasting much time announces his presence once again in the 54th minutes with his third goal on the day to complete his remarkable hat-trick.

Al Ettifaq came back strongly with their fire power scoring two quick goals within the last 18 minutes through another strikes from Wijnaldum and Dembele.

The game thus ended 4-3 in Al Ettifaq favour to record a comeback.

The results leaves Benard Mensah’s Al Taee 9th on the league table with 7 points after 7 matches.

The hat-trick also increases the Black Stars midfielder goal tally to 4 goals on the goal scorers chat in the 2023/24 Saudi Arabia Professional League.

He joined Al Taee before the start of the current league campaign after parting ways with Turkish side Kayserispor.

Bernard Mensah has previously played for Getafe, Besiktas, Victoria Guimaraes, Kasimpasa and Kayserispor.
