GPL: Medeama drop points at home after Accra Lions draw

Medeama Sporting Club on Wednesday September 20, 2023, failed to start their title defense on a good note in their Ghana Premier League opener against Accra Lions.

The Ghanaian champions were held to a 2-2 draw by the Accra-based club at the Akoon Park in the Western Region.

Medeama, hoped of kicking their 2023/24 league campaign on a brighter note with a win at its favorite grounds.

However a stubborn Accra Lions defies the Yellow and Mauves odds to picked a point in an-all-around entertaining encounter.

Defender Samuel Gyimah gave the away team the lead in the first 20th minutes of the game.

Daniel Lomotey in the 56th minutes leveled the score for Medeama to give the supporters something to cheer on.

In the 80th minutes, Ali Mohammed scores for Accra Lions to put his side in front however their celebration only lasted six minutes.
