The one-week observation of the late Legon Cities FC goalkeeper, Sylvester Sackey, is scheduled for Sunday, September 24, 2023.

It will take place at exactly 2:00 PM at Akyempim, a suburb community in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region.

The decision was borne out of some deliberations between the family of the deceased and management of Legon Cities FC – the late player’s club until the unfortunate incident.

The one-week observation is expected to draw on board members of the football fraternity from all walks of life.

Officials from Legon Cities FC and his former club Tarkwa Barcelona will be expected to attend Sunday’s observation of the late stopper.

That notwithstanding, officials of the Ghana Football Association, the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) among others will all be expected to be present.

The 27-year-old footballer died on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Elubo government hospital in the Western Region.

His demise follows a short illness, and the body has since been deposited at the hospital for preservation.
