CAF Confed Cup: Dreams FC beat FC Kallon to secure first-leg advantage

Dreams FC have secured a first-leg advantage towards qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup after recording a narrow victory over FC Kallon.

The Still Believe boys recorded a 2-1 win over their Serria Leone opponents in the first-leg of the second preliminary round.

The all-important match was played at the Accra Sports Stadium Friday, September 15, 2023.

An early first-half strike from Godfred Atuahene and John Antwi’s second half finish was enough to give Dreams FC the upper hands over FC Kallon ahead of the second leg.

Coach Karim Zito’s side had to survive a late onslaught after the Serria Leone outfit finished the game on high intensity.

The Ghanaian side shot into the lead after 10 minutes when Godfred Atuahene slotted home an opportunity that came his way.

Despite their dominance, FC Kallon faught back to got the equalizer before the end of the first department of the game.

Back from recess, Dreams FC improved their performance with some decent chances falling their way however they blew it away.

They finally made good account of their dominance and chances with John Antwi grabbing the second goal of the evening in the 55th minutes.

His goal proved to become the match winner for the FA Cup champions to record a 2-1 scoreline ahead of the second leg.

Dreams FC will travel for the second leg at a yet-to-decide venue outside Serria Leone following FC Kallon lack of CAF’s standard stadium.
