Ghana humbles Liberia in International friendly

The Black Stars of Ghana scored three second half goals to defeat Leone Stars of Liberia 3:1 in an international friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Black Stars started the game on a good note creating few chances but failed to convert them into goal as the first half ended goalless.

Olympic Lyon wonder kid Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring for the home side through a delightful pass from the midfield where he hit the ball pass the legs of the opposition goalkeeper.

The Black Stars dominated play and had many chances but couldn’t utilize any. Mohammed Kudus quickly made their dominance count with the second goal to double the lead for Ghana.

Coach Chris Hughton’s boys continue their pressing and cut open the Liberians from midfield and Jordan Ayew applied the finishing touch with a rebound just inside the 18 yards box to give the Black Stars a three-goal lead.

Chances continued to fall for both sides with the Black Stars having the best of them in a frantic encounter but could not increase their tally.

The Liberians also translated their performance of the day into productivity and managed to pull one back in the dying embers of the game.

The four-time AFCON winners having made several changes attempted to add more goals but were denied by their opponent as the they held on to a 3:1 win.
