Vincent Atinga leaves Medeama

Towering defender Vincent Atinga has left Medeama SC following the expiration of his contract.

Atinga has left the reigning Ghana Premier League champions after failing to reach a contract extension with the club.

Getsportsgh.com understands Atinga wanted only a season’s contract while the club wanted a one-year contract which couldn’t be agreed by both parties.

Medeama show Dreams FC no mercy to clinch second Super Cup title

The former Hearts of Oak center-back is currently a free agent as his contract with Medeama comes to an end today, September 11, 2023.

He signed a three-year deal for Medeama in March, 2021 after returning from his overseas adventure, where he played for KF Tirana in Albania and Kuwaiti clubs Qadsia SC and Al Shabab.

During his three-year stay at the club, Vincent Atinga netted 21 goals in 74 matches for Medeama.

He played a crucial role to Medeama winning the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title, scoring 11 goals in the campaign.

Vincent Atinga was recognized with the prestigious 2022-23 Ghana Premier League Player of the Season accolade for his exceptional contributions last Saturday at an awards ceremony organised by the Ghana Football Association.
