2023 AFCON Qualifier: Jordan Ayew captain Black Stars for CAR game

Crystal Palace ace – Jordan Ayew has been named as the skipper of the Black Stars side against the Central African Republic this evening in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The forward was named as the captain of the side who starts the epic clash at the Baba Yara Stadium at 4:00 PM.

He was appointed as the captain by head coach, Chris Hughton who announced his Black Stars starting line-up for their game.

The coach has made seven changes to his squad that held Zimbabwe to a goalless draw played away in the last assignment.

Meaning, Jordan Ayew, goalkeeper Ati-Zigi, Joseph Aidoo and Abdul Samed are the only four players to maintain their starting spot.

At the heart of defense are Lawerence Ati-Zigi, Alidu Seidu, Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Abdul and Baba Rahman, earned a starting berth.

In the midfield, Elisha Owusu, Abdul Samed, Mohammed Kudus, gets a starting role whiles Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew and Osman Bukari will lead the attacking line.

Surprisingly, general captain, Andre Dede Ayew who started the last game in Madagascar has been benched.
