Done Deal: Ex-Hearts of Oak defender joins Bibiani Goldstars

William Dankyi joins Bibiani Goldstars

Former Hearts of Oak defender William Dankyi has completed a move to Bibiani Goldstars ahead of the 2023/24 league season.

Dankyi has signed a two-year deal for the Bibiani-based club after passing a mandatory medical last week.

The experienced left-back has penned down a deal with Bibiani Goldstars on free transfer after leaving King Faisal Football Club.

Dankyi boast of huge experience in the domestic league, having played for Liberty Professionals and Hearts of Oak.

He came to the limelight during his days at Hearts of Oak before leaving for Egypt.

Even though he is known for his defensive qualities, William Dankyi can also play as a midfielder.

The 24-year old was a member of the Hearts of Oak squad that won the Ghana Premier League title, two FA Cups under the tutelage of coach Samuel Boadu.

He featured for the Ghana U-17 football team from 2012 to 2014 and was a member of the squad that played in the 2013 African U-17 Championship.

Dankyi was later promoted to the Ghana U-20 team featuring for 2016 to 2018. He was given his first call up in 2016, ahead of the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He became a member of the squad that played in the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers, Ghana subsequently qualified for the main competition after scoring Algeria.

William Dankyi was selected for the Ghana U-23 squad for the 2019 Africa U-23 AFCON in Egypt.
