Thomas Partey out for six weeks

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to be out of action for six weeks after suffering a groin injury at training.

The 30-year old sustained the injury in training and the club will take his return with caution due to his history of thigh problems. “It doesn’t look good. We need some more tests. I believe he’ll be out for a few weeks”, said Mikel Arteta.

Partey is expected to miss Arsenal games against  Everton, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Manchester City alongside PSV Eindhoven and Lens in the UEFA Champions League.

He is expected to return to action after the October international break.

Thomas Partey is an influential in the Arsenal set-up and played the first three games of this season’s English Premier League where the club won two and drew one.
