Joseph Paintsil picks slight injury

With just two days left for Ghana’s game against Central African Republic in the 2023 AFCON qualifier, the Black Stars have recorded an injury situation.

According to information reaching, winger Joseph Paintsil has had a slight injury after joining the Black Stars camp.

The FC Genk talisman is not part of the Black Stars squad currently lodging at the Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel in the Ashanti Region’s capital for the Central African Republic showdown.

The Black Stars contingent have already touched down in Kumasi to continue preparations for the 2023 AFCON tie against Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

As at now, twenty-four players invited for Black Stars camp have arrived, left with goalkeeper Richard Ofori who is expected to land in Ghana this evening.

Ghana will need at least a point to be able to secure qualification to the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast next year.

In the qualification race, Ghana lead the group with nine points, followed closely by Angola with eight points, and Central African Republic with seven points.

Madagascar, with two points, sit at the bottom. The top two teams following the final round of matches will secure qualification for the tournament in Ivory Coast next year, making it a crucial match for Ghana, Angola, and Central African Republic.
