Black Stars departs Accra to Kumasi today

Ghana’s contingent of the Black Stars will depart the nation’s capital, Accra today, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, to Kumasi for their crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic.

The contingent’s which will be led by Team Manager Ameenu Shadow, and comprises of the entire playing body leaves Accra to Kumasi with a flight.

They are expected to land in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital before 12noon.

As part of the preparations, the team opened camping in Accra on Monday, September 4, with all the invited players with the exception of Jordan Ayew and Richard Ofori.

Twenty-three of the invited twenty-five players currently in camp together with the technical team led by Chris Hughton are expected to received warm atmosphere from football lovers in the garden city when the team arrives.

When arrived, the team will have its first training at the Baba Yara Sports stadium at 4pm.

Ghana needs a win at all costs to seal a qualification status to the 2023 AFCON slated to take place in Ivory Coast.

A qualification for the four-time AFCON winners will see Ghana making it to their 10th straight Africa Cup of Nations finals following nine consecutive appearances since 2006.
