The Ghana Premier League side confirmed the capture of the midfield in a statement on their website on Sunday morning.

“Asante Kotoko is delighted to confirm the signing of defensive midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena from WAFA after completing his mandatory medical examination on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who has earned the reputation as one of the best in his position in the domestic league, penned a three-year deal and followed Andrews Ntim as the two central midfield signing of the current transfer window,” the statement reads.

Dwamena brings on board a combination of excellent reading of the game, breaking up opponents’ attacks, and also an impressive distribution of passes.

The former WAFA skipper’s football career started from Upper West-based Wa Suntaa, before spending three seasons at the Sogakope Arena.

During his stay, he made more than 20 appearances for the Division One side last season and provided four assists.
