According to Arsenal, the midfielder picked up an injury in training and could be on the sidelines for a while hence his exclusion from the Black Stars squad.

Meanwhile, Medeama goal poacher Jonathan Sowah has been handed his debut call-up following his impressive form for the Ghanaian Champions.

The former Danbort FC goal poacher is the only local-based player in the Black Stars squad for the CAR showdown.

Jonathan Sowah made a significant impact by notching up an impressive tally of 12 goals in 18 matches during his inaugural season with the Mauve and Yellows.

The lethal attacker further demonstrated his prowess by securing the decisive goal for Medeama in their CAF Champions League encounter against Remo Stars in Cape Coast.

Ghana will need at least a point against Central African Republic to secure a qualification to the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
