CONFIRMED: Karela United sign Kotoko defender

Maxwell Agyemang joins Karela United

Karela United have completed the capturing of Asante Kotoko defender Maxwell Agyemang, can confirm.

The center-back has signed a two-year deal with Karela United after completing a mandatory medical on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Agyemang has joined Karela United on free transfer after his contract with Asante Kotoko was terminated weeks ago.

He was deemed surplus to requirements at Asante Kotoko despite an impressive form last season.

Maxwell Agyemang became a subject of transfer for several clubs in the domestic league despite being deemed a misfit at Asante Kotoko.

He was heavily linked to RTU, Dreams FC and Bofoakwa Tano but Karela United have been able to land his signature for the next two years.

Agyemang signed for Asante Kotoko two seasons ago from lower-tier side Wamanafo Mighty Royals on a three-year deal.

He has joined Mohammed Alhassan, Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng, Charles Owusu and Joseph Amoako as list of players who have left Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.

Maxwell Agyemang contributed to Asante Kotoko success in winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title under the tutelage of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
