OFFICIAL: Baba Yahaya completes Asante Kotoko transfer

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of enterprising midfielder Baba Yahaya from King Faisal on a three-year deal.

The much-talk-about transfer of the midfielder becomes official following a successful negotiations.

Yahaya whose contract with King Faisal expired after the 2022/23 league season has been training with Kotoko for the past weeks until his capture.

The midfield dynamo became a long time target of the Ghanaian powerhouse before opening talks to sign him officially.

Asante Kotoko in an official statement announced the capture of the 21-year-old.

“We’re excited to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder, Baba Yahaya on a three-year deal. Baba is a WARRIOR,” the club said on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

He is expected to bring on board his skillful attributes and eye for pass to the porcupine worriors.

Baba Yahaya was instrumental for King Faisal Football Club last season despite the team’s inability to escape relegation in the 2022/23 season of the Ghana Premier League.

With the extension of the deadline date for the transfer window, Kotoko will be hoping to intensify their pursue for WAFA midfielder, Michael Kyei Dwamena, who has been a keen target for coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
