Erling Haaland named UEFA men's player of the year

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been named the UEFA men’s player of the year on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

The Norwegian defeated competitions from teammate Kevin Debruyne and Inter Miami skipper Lionel Messi.

Haaland has been voted the winner following his record-breaking performance last season.

The lethal goal poacher became the youngest and quickest player to make it to 35 Champions League goals in total.

He was a core figure in Manchester City’s treble lat season made up of the English Premier League, FA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

The award was revealed at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco this evening.
